What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The information collected on this website is kept confidential and stays within the confines of the website. The information collected and present within the website, such as email address, and mailing address is not sold any third party.

Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. All online transactions which require the exchange of credit card information are initiated and completed in a secure environment for the protection of our customers. Although information passing through our systems is secure we do require that you keep your account information (username and password) confidential. At no time will we ask for your password. All conversations will be kept confidential unless otherwise stated.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Mobile messages

By subscribing to Miami Connected mobile alerts, the user consents to receive recurring text messages and phone calls with opportunities related to no-cost and low-cost internet services, devices and digital skills training.

There is no fee from Miami Connected to receive text messages. Message and data rates may apply- this can be checked with your mobile service provider. Charges are billed and payable to your mobile service provider or deducted from your prepaid account. Consent is not a requirement for purchase.

Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile phone number, your carrier’s name and the date, time and content of your messages. We may use this information to contact you and provide the services you request from us. Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered if the mobile phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of the wireless operator may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. Wireless operators do not guarantee message delivery and will not be held liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Miami Connected will not be liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS message as delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network operator.

Embedded content from other websites
